Subject Are there any application examples of antimicrobial copper?

There was an experiment comparing the rate of HAI (Healthcare-Acquired Infections) of MRSA and VRE (Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus) between rooms without antimicrobial copper and rooms with antimicrobial copper applied to devices in the rooms in ICU ( Intensive Care Unit) of three hospitals in the US. The result showed that the infection rate of the room with antimicrobial copper decreased by 58%.

In a dermatology ward tested at Kitasato University Pharmacy College in Japan, the antimicrobial copper film was cut into 21x39.7cm piece and attached to a bed linen. They found that MRSA was reduced from 6,600~1100 cfu(Colony forming units) to 20~130 cfu and announced that the use of the antimicrobial copper film in the bedspread of patient who may be an MRSA infection will help prevent the spread of MRSA in the ward.

At the MUSC(Medical University of South Carolina) hospital, HAI was reduced by more than 50% by applying the copper film to major parts of the ICU rooms.
