According to various antimicrobial research reports of copper, MRSA (Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) is killed within a few hours to a few minutes,
which is considered to be a difference depending on experimental conditions and methods.
However, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognizes copper as the only antimicrobial metal,
and copper products registered with the EPA have allowed to use “viruses and bacteria to die within 2 hours” on labels to promote the products.
Currently, more than 400 different copper-based antimicrobial products are registered with EPA and sold as antimicrobial products.
