Antimicrobial film is used for the purpose of preventing the transmission of virus and bacteria between humans by attaching it to surfaces where many unspecified people frequently touch (eg elevator buttons or train handles).

Therefore, in order to function and function as an antimicrobial film, bacteria and viruses that have been transferred to the surfaces by human hands must be killed on the antimicrobial film in a short time.
According to a research paper by Dr. William Keevil of Southampton University in the UK, who has been studying the antimicrobial effect of copper for over 20 years, the higher the purity of copper, the higher the antimicrobial effect.

In addition, research on how quickly the virus that has spread to copper (C11000; 99.96% purity) from human fingers dies (Finger tip touch simulation test) shows that it dies within minutes.
Therefore, a copper antimicrobial film with a high purity surface of 100% can be said to be a good antimicrobial film.

However, because even the thin copper is opaque, most antimicrobial films in Korea make copper compounds or copper as nano-particle powders to ensure transparency, and then apply a product coated with a transparent PE (Poly Ethylene) film mixed with resin to the elevator buttons.
The antimicrobial film made in this way is difficult to ensure the antimicrobial effect, and it is difficult to measure how much copper is actually exposed on the surface. In addition, each time the elevator button is pressed, the copper powder located on the film surface can fall off, and the antimicrobial power has to be gradually reduced.
